Oliver King

We are happy to announce the birth of our newest member of our family, Oliver King. Oliver was born Friday January 9, 2009 at 4PM. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz, and measured 20.5 in. For those wondering, King is Ben's paternal grandmother's maiden name, and we love the ring that it adds to Oliver's name.

A couple details of the event. Cooper woke up Friday with a few steady contractions that indicated this might be the day. She then proceeded to tidy up, pack her bag and get things organized. Around 2 PM Cooper called Ben and said, "I think I may be in labor." He then left work to arrive home and take Cooper to the hospital, arriving at 2:45PM. One hour later, Oliver was born! That was definitely a record for our family.

We are very excited to welcome him to our family! Cooper and Oliver are doing very well, and other than the onslaught of kisses and snuggles from his four older siblings, he doesn't seemed too phased by the new transition in his life.
