Adventures With Bones!

Welcome to Nolan's Art Show page! His summer project this year was to have his very own art show! He decided to make all of his art about his stuffed mouse named "Bones." He was inspired by Grandma Johanson's final show and it went from a living room display to a private show at the library with an article in the local newspaper! We had an opening reception and everything. Here are some pictures from the reception as well as close-ups of the art for serious fans :). Perhaps we got carried away...but it is something Nolan will never forget!

It was a LOT of attention for Nolan's personality, but he held up just fine.

MOUSE QUILT-Nolan made a different pattern in each area and colored them with crayons.

BONES RAN UP THE CLOCK-He made this one in MS Paint. He keeps asking to use "your Paint, Mom" (Adobe Illustrator) instead!

X-RAY BONES-Rollover this image! I asked him about the skeleton's ears and he said "ears are cartillage mom!"

MOUSECAR-This one is huge. He drew it on white wrapping paper. Notice the grandstands and the cat that crashed into a fallen tree.

PALACE OF CHEESE-This knight was one of the first projects Nolan did for the show. I love the coat of arms and the tail armor.
CHEESE WARS-He has named each character including R2-Cheese2 and the Millenium Cheeser. Click to see the villains as well.

BONES GOES ON AN UNDERWATER ADVENTURE-Nolan named all the pieces himself. There are some great details in this one.

CHAMPIONSHIP-Nolan grinned while drawing this and said "Grandpa Johanson will LOVE this one!" Go Blue!

SPIDERBONES TO THE RESCUE!-Everytime you see an eraser mark (there aren't many), you can imagine Nolan having a total meltdown...he is quite the perfectionist.

CURSE OF THE DEAD MOUSE TREASURE-This is the one he used on his postcard to mail to local fans. He actually burned the hole in the map himself, but that was way too scary, so I held the paper while he held the candle for the rest.

BLAST OFF!-This is made out of card stock. He forgot to make "engines" the first time and had to start all over.

3 CLOWNS-Nolan worried everyone would think the balloon was a skull. For the record: it is cheese.

BONES' FIRST DAY-Nolan got Bones in his stocking almost 3 years ago.
GIANT BONES-I overheard Nolan explaining how to do paper mache to an elderly library patron the other day. Bless her for listening!

HALLOWEEN BOO!-This is a series of six, for the six Halloweens of Nolan's life.

KING BONES-This is one he painted in front of the photographer that came to our house for the
newspaper article.

Check it out "I'm famous!" Don't forget to sign the guestbook or send us an email! Nolan loves to hear which was everyone's favorite!

SPLATTERMOUSE-This was done in the style of "Peanuts" artist, Tom Everhart. We had to wash the kitchen walls after this one.
